china glaze white on white (core)

 it is time for the white staple, so i am showing china glaze's white on white from their 2014 pop top collection.

white polishes can be really useful. at some point i owned quite a few glittery polishes and i almost always prefered them over a white base.  even though i use it mostly for layering, i had to try it on it's own as well.

when it comes to the white polishes, they can be quite tricky, but i think that this one is pretty decent. i had no serious problems with application, and while it may look a bit streaky in the process, it is quite self leveling so the end result is quite good.

picture polish forest (collaboration shade)

i am a huge fan of picture polish collaboration shades, because they are always fun and unusual colours, not the ones you can find in your regular drugstore. forest is one of those beauties, created  in autumn 2017 with lacquertech.

forest is such an interesting green shade, described as "warm green jelly with scattered yellow and holo flakes". i really love the choice of green and yellow glitter, it really makes this polish special, together with little holo particles, that are probably not that visible on a gloomy day.

it is a jelly, so the coverage is not your full-on 100%, but i love the look. it needs a good top coat to level it out and give it a glossy look, so that the end result is perfect.

opi baby please come home (mariah carey holiday)

 i've kind of neglected texture polishes, so today i'm showing baby please come home from opi's mariah carey holiday collection for 2013.

before i mention anything about the polish itself, i have to state that i've never heard of one with a more depressing name. don't know mariah's song that inspired it, but it has to be soooo not fun.

anyway, i can see how this polish is meant for holiday season, or more generally, winter. i can see it perfectly matched with big sweaters while sipping tea. it is a beautiful, soft lavender shade with glitter in matching colour. it is a textured polish, but with a metallic look.

chanel rose fusion (vamp attitude)

rose fusion, from chanel's  2015 holiday collection called vamp attitude, is one of the polishes that always surprises me. i keep forgetting how pretty it is.

i would have probably overlooked this one. the botlle can fool you to think that this is a dull polish, while in reality, it is one of the most complex. the amount of colours and finishes in one bottle is crazy. on  a cloudy day, it is a gorgeous purple to taupe duochrome, while at sun it becomes a more bronzy metallic polish with awesome silvery shimmer.

it is really unique and magnificent, as if you are wearing a different polish every time you look at your nails. the formula is a bit brushstrokey, but it's really fine. i have a lots of pictures, because i couldn't resist.

cloudy day:

a england fonteyn (ballerina)

there is something so beautiful about a england polishes, i just can't get enough of them. the beauty of the day is fonteyn from the ballerina collection.

it's been a while since i showed encore margot from this collection, so it was about time to show this beauty. and that it really is! it is a silvery holo with a hint of lavender, with a england signature amazing formula. it truly is amazingly lovely with being unusual!

china glaze unpredictable (new bohemian)

when i saw promo pics for china glaze 2012 bohemian collections, my eyes immediately popped out! i love duochromes, and i couldn't decide which one i liked better. i decided to get unpredictable, and then decide if i should get more. i believe i made a perfect choice, but regret not getting more.

the base color is a teal green with gold shimmer, so i guess you could say that it is a green/blue/gold duochrome.

the formula is good, although it leaves visible brushstrokes, but since this is expected for this type of finish, and since the color is sooooo beautiful, i'm letting this one fault slide. it is fully opaque with two layers.

fun lacquer desires (h) (christmas 2015)

 i am really getting obessed with f. u. n. lacquer, so i am showing you the gorgeous desires (h) from christmas 2015 collection.

polishes in this collection come in a holo, marked with (h) and non holo version. i got cheers to the holidays (h) as well.  desires is really gorgeous duochrome, with medium green being the most dominant shade, that shifts to goldish/bronze brown, as you can see in the images in shade.

in the holo version,  fine and micro holographic gold glitter and shimmer are added to the mix. the end result is a really awesome shade. i see it perfect for christmas period, but definitely not limited to it. formula wise, there is really nothing to complain about it.

picture polish gravity (limited edition)

after altered state and ilusionist, i't's time for the third  polish from the picture polish limited edition shades, gravity.

here, i am wearing one coat over  essie midnight cami.  every time i'm wearing one of these polishes, i think it's my favourite one from the bunch because, let's face it, they are all magical. gravity's multichrome effect ranges from blue over purple to pink, with rare glimpses of copper. unfortunately, my pictures show mostly the blue part. add to this the holographic glitter, and you get perfection!

it is pretty in direct sun but it is even better in shade, as the multichrome effect gets in the full swing.

chanel quartz (illusions d'ombres)

 today i am showing the first chanel polish i bought, quartz from the fall 2011 collection illusions d'ombres.

i often wonder how it got to be that this is my first chanel, especially when you take into account that quartz came out with peridot and graphite. 

colour is complex, somewhere between beige and taupe, but really rich in multicolored shimmer. formula is decent. it is the most wearable from fall 2011 trio and a nice shade. it is a bit streaky, but it is not too visible.

opi love.angel.music.baby (gwen stefani)

today i am showing love.angel.music.baby (lamb) from opi's gwen stefani collection for 2014. i already showed 4 in the morning from the same collection.

i have to admit, lamb totally surprised me. the shade is a pale, muted gold, with a satin finish. it is shimmering gorgeously, and it is not at all kitschy or over the top. 

formula is also awesome, self leveling and, since it is supposed to be worn without a top coat, it is drying quickly.
