catrice cloud nine (pastel please)

my nail polish-buying has reached the  bare minimum in the last couple of years, as i do believe that i have more or less every shade under the sun, but sometimes i like to indulge and buy a polish i know i would wear a lot. catrice's pastel please collection immediately caught my eye, and i decided to start with cloud nine.

i think it's obvious why this polish had to be mine. it is a gorgeous periwinkle-type of blue shade, saturated with this sugar-like shimmer, the signature of this collection. it is essentially a pastel shade, meaning, the colour really changes whether you wear it on a sunny or a rainy day, and i did both.

the formula is solid, builds up nicely and it definitely convinced me to get at least one more.

catrice get slimed (iconails)

i already raved about current catrice core collection, iconails. after aqua man-icure and beleive in jade,  i am moving to get slimed.

get slimed might not be everybody's cup of tea, but it surely is mine. it is a muted, but still lively lime green. the second i saw it, i knew it had to be mine.

application and formula are great, i really am happy with current catrice offer.

catrice beleive in jade (iconails)

i already wrote how much i like the current catrice collection, iconails, when i wrote about aqua man-icure. today, i am showing believe in jade.

believe in jade is, well, as the name says, a jade polish. it is a perfect jade though, not too muted, not too bright, just perfect. formula is also amazing, as well as the brush, so i am definitelly recommending this line.

catrice aqua man-icure (iconails 117)

it's been a while since a catrice polish made an appearance in my stash. this is going to change in 2023, as i finally re-discover their iconails range, and my first pick was aqua man-icure.

as i started writing this post, i realized that i actually already have an iconails tag. apparently, i wrote about one of the early additions to the range, mermaid my day, and after frantically searching for it, i remembered that i actually finished the bottle in a year.

catrice was the brand that got me into nailpolishes quite some time ago, but after they changed the brush into a complete mess, i started to completely ignore it. after i discovered that i brought just one polish to a trip, i decided to take a look at catrice once again, and this one immediately caught my eye. aqua man-icure is a gorgeous light blue. the brush is amazing again, and even though the shade suggests that the formula may be difficult, it was actually quite the opposite. it's no wonder i got two more polishes during the year, and i am sure i will pick up more.

catrice mermayday mayday (iconails 13)

it's been a while since i picked up a bottle of catrice nail polish. they were my go-to drugstore brand, until they ruined their brush and i stopped even looking at their counter. i got mermaiday mayday from their iconails collection as a gift.

if the polishes of the iconails collection are of the similar quality as this one, than catrice definitely goes back to my good graces. mermaiday mayday is a nice shade of muted teal, but one of those impossible to capture perfectly, as its appearance also changes with the light and weather and so on.

formula is smooth and selfleveling, and quite shiny. if i wasn't so used to my fast drying top coat, it could've been easily skipped.

i am showing quite a few photos, because it really changes with the lighting.

catrice rusty but sexy (core 2012)

catrice rusty but sexy 560 is my type of orange shimmery polish!

rusty but sexy is a rusty, burnt orange  metallic polish. it has golden sparkles when it's under direct light.

it is in the group of those "almost one-coaters" and it tends to leave visible brushstrokes while applying it, but the formula is self-leveling so it's all nice and even after a few seconds.

catrice oh my goldness (core 2012)

i fell in love with catrice 910 oh my goldness! from their 2012 core collection  the moment i saw the bottle.

in the bottle, it looks like a golden going on bronze shimmery polish, but when you start to apply it, you realize it is actually really fine golden glitter in the clear base  instead of shimmer. it is opaque enough, though, and you get uniform coverage from two layers. when you apply the first coat, it looks too shear, and i was afraid that it was one of the polishes that will need three layers to look good, but the second layer surprisingly gave it depth and there was no need for the third one.
