opi ink (night brights)

opi ink is from the legendary 2007 collection, night brights, that gave us my private jet, and a later suede version.

this polish was kind of iconic when it first appeared, and it feel so strange that this was 17 years ago! damn, the time did pass quickly. it is a blurple shade, dark but fun. the shimmer is subtle but not drowned.

even though it's ridiculously old, the formula is still great!

picture polish eyre (opulence)

it's time for this absolute stunner: picture polish eyre, released as the addition to their opulence collection in 2014.

it is a metallic blurple shade filled with holo flakes, which is probably in my top 3 favourite finishes. everything about it is amazing, it was so hard to limit the number of pictures. the formula is also great, two regular coats.

eyre is gorgeous in every light, but i just adore it when it's gloomy because, even though it doesn't show all of its sparkle, it becomes so misterious. i will update this post with pictures in direct sun at some point.

china glaze bizzare blurple (wicked)

bizarre blurple is a china glaze gem from their wicked collection for halloween 2012. i already showed cast a spell, one of my favourite polishes.

i love both purple and blue polishes, but i just might love blurples the most. this one is leaning more towards blue than purple. from the bottle, it would seem that it is a duochrome or a metallic polish, but in fact it is just highly saturated shimmer, but pretty nevertheless.

it is well pigmented with no particular formula difficulties.

a england tristam (the mythicals)

i will show you a england tristam, a beauty from  the mythicals collection, the one that gave us excalibur revamped

edina from a england describes it as "night blue sky with starlight glimmer and glow". it sure is gorgeous, and she really knows how to make scattered holos. this one looks amazing both in direct light and indoors, it really stands out but is subtle at the same time. formula and application are flawless, i can't say a bad word about any a england polish.

franken polish: is this it? by shine eye

it's about time i've shown another franken. this one is called is this it?.

as i wrote in she's thunderstorms post, my method of frankening consist of mixing the last droplets of otherwise emptied polishes, so they end up being mostly blurple :)

is this it? is from the dark blurple range, with navy blue dominating. shimmer is quite complex, blue, purple and green. i will have to reswatch it on a more sunny day, for the bling. it is named after the strokes song (and album).

fun lacquer midnight nocturne (summer 2015)

f. u. n. lacquer has amazing polishes, and one of them is midnight nocturne from their summer 2015 collection.

midnight nocturne is an awesome blue-dominating blurple holographic polish. like all of the polishes from this collection, it is filled with amazing gold holo particles. the shade is amazingly saturated, easy to work with and overall gorgeous.

picture polish big bang (collaboration shade)

it's time for another picture polish collaboration shade, this time big bang, created with la npa mouton.

big bang is such a complex beauty! the shade is blue leaning blurple, with multicoloured, and i mean multicoloured because i can see pretty much everything, glitter. it is deep, rich, complex, in one word, a stunner!

formula is awesome, opaque in two coats, and one of my favourite recent pp shades. my pictures, sadly, don't do it justice.

flormar speed limit (full color)

it is so strange that speed limit is my first flormar polish, and it was a gift. it comes from their full color range.

speed limit is a gorgeous purple-leaning blurple, which means, awesome colour, impossible to capture faithfully. i am not too much off, but still, it is a bit less blue in real life.

application was smooth and easy, it is such a pretty creme and quite a bargain. i love it and already wore it a few times.

opi tomorrow never dies (skyfall)

skyfall was probably the last collection from opi that blew me away.  maybe it's because i didn't own billion polishes at that point so it provided me with a lot of interesting shades. one of those was the gorgeous tomorrow never dies.

and tomorrow never dies truly is special. the shade is blurple/indigo, with that gorgeous blue and pink "powdered" shimmer that almost gives that "lit from within" kind of look.

the formula is slightly on the thick side, but good to work with and even though it looks like a stainer, that doesn't happen.

franken polish: she's thunderstorms by shine eye

here i am, with another franken. this one is called she's thunderstorms.

as my method of frankening consist of mixing the last droplets of otherwise emptied polishes, it is not a surprise that they end up being either green-ish or blurple-ish.  all of those also end up being shimmers, with an occasional flakie/(holo) glitter.

she's thunderstorms is from the blurple range, although leaning more to purple. shimmer ended up being very interesting, giving it some bling. i find the song that inspired  its name (by arctic monkeys, of course) fits it beautifully on so many levels.
