chanel coco blue (les jeans)

after blue rebel, i am showing another polish from chanel's  THE blue trio (les jeans collection for fashion's fight out 2011). in the spirit of a light blue wednesday, i'm wearing coco blue.

surprisingly or not, this was my first sort of baby blue polish. i never was a fan of this particular shade, it was always too girly for me, somewhere in the lines with barbie pink. also, it was the last one of the trio that i got, but i'm happy that i did.

coco blue is a cool- toned sky blue creme, with some of the chanel's famous pearly subtle shimmer. in the bottle, the shimmer is a bit in-your-face, but it is barely visible on the nails. in my opinion, it has the function to make the formula smoother and easier to apply. the color is really vibrant under the direct light. it is one of those colors for all seasons, and i've grown to really like it.

for some reason, i was completely sure i that i read somewhere that the formula is terrible, but it is good. not amazing and brilliant, but without any issues in applications.

zoya storm (ornate)

storm is one of the polishes from zoya's awesome collection ornate for winter 2012.

storm is a really straightforward polish, but nevertheless, a stunner. one of those that are a must have in every collection: a black base filled with dense holo particles. in zoya, they describe it as "a full coverage, holiday black with a high concentration of micro fine diamond holographic glitter."

it is beautiful and with a great formula, just like a deep starry night.

opi show must go on (burlesque)

after teas-y does it, i am showing another polish from opi's holiday collection burlesque back in 2010, show must go on.

i am so sad that i had only the mini version of this polish, because it is a stunner (and, unfortunately, finished now). a magenta-burnt orange duochrome, awesome for gloomier days because you can see all the little details in it. i think it is really unique and wish i could find a dupe!

the formula was decent, especially for a mini, but i would forgive it even if it wasn't, that's how pretty it is.

essence prince charming (snow white)

i am a sucker for a well chosen nail polish name, and i admit to being susceptible to propaganda. that's why i had to try really hard not to buy everything from essence snow white limited edition back in 2012. and i actually never liked that particular fairy tale (i would probably surrender to this urge if it was little mermaid or sleeping beauty :D). i decided to buy only the ones i really liked (grumpy and two toppers, huntsman and prince charming, but i had to have evil queen also, ) even the stand was so adorable! after showing huntsman, the spotlight goes to prince charming.

prince charming applies easily and it's not too thick, which is a problem i come across quite often with the glitter toppers. it has hexagonal blue glitter suspended in clear base together with silver and holo glitter.

dance legend velvet mini 7

i mentioned how much i loved dance legend velvet and velvet mini (Бархат Мини) collections, and i already showed number 10, so tiday is time for number 7.

velvet mini 10 is a pearly white shade with a lot of silvery shimmer. as most of satin polishes, this one looks quite differently in shade and direct sunlight, which is why i am including both.

the formula is a bit tricky, it is somewhat transparent so it sometimes needed three coats, depending on how thick the first two were. it was fully dried in about 20 minutes.

franken polish: out of time by shine eye

i love making my franken polish concoctions. as i already said, i usually just have some empty polish bottless that i fill with the last droplets of other polishes. i already made a few of those (you saw she's thunderstorms) and i am loving all of them. out of time (inspired by a blur song, link at the bottom) is actually one of my favourites!

out of time is a purple-eggplant kind of shade filled with silver shimmer and lighter purple hex glitter. i love how it looks in shade, as the glitter is more pronounced. therefore, a bit more photos than usual, but what can i do, i am in love!

barry m neptune sea (magnetic effects)

after showing moon dust, it's time to present neptune sea, my other barry m polish from their magnetic effects collection.

source

i loved
moon dust, but i had "problems" with neptune sea. although with it being mostly silver (as you can see from the polish on its own, without using the magnet), magnetic particles are actually blue glittery particles. it took me a lot of wears until i realized that i don't like it with the magnet that it comes with, this weird star-like pattern. i feel like it somehow difuses the effects, and you are left with the feeling that something is missing, that either magnet is not good or that the polish itself is not behaving well.

illamasqua kink (the theatre of the nameless)

my urge to show something green was fulfilled with kink from illamasqua's theatre of the nameless collection back in 2011.

i got kink and taint on a blog sale, otherwise, i'm not sure that they would catch my eye. this collection features polishes with an interesting, rubbery finish.

kink's colour is dark, winter green with some blue undertones. the formula is interesting, it's not streaky but the drying time could be better (or maybe i'm just too used to using fast drying top coats). i find this finish to be really interesting, somehow leather looking.

opi turn on the northern lights (island)

it's been a while since i bought an opi polish, but i knew i had to have turn on the northern lights from their last year's island collection.

opi describes it as "straight from the midnight sky, this deep purple sets the stage for an unforgettable show". i call it HOLLY COW! this polish is pure awesomeness!

it is a dark blue, filled with this absolutely spectactular "lit from within" shimmer that closely resembles the elusive "unicorn pee" pigment. the shimmer makes the base colour look more blurple/indigo even though it isn't.

formula is also good, it flows easily, and it has this crelly look that opi pulls off so well. i also keep forgeting that opi has one of my favourite brushes, so this is another plus. anyhow, if you still don't have your bottle, run for it!

ysl feuille d'or (spicy)

i have been away for a while, do to work travels, and i make my return with some bling! i am showing one classy topper, ysl feuille d'or. i love the ysl collection, spicy, that it was a part of. it seems like it was only yesterday when it appeared, and i just now realized it was back in 2014!
i think the name matches the polish beautifully, as it really looks like having golden leaves on your nails. it is a topper that looks good over any shade, which i hope to show here in time.
