franken polish: is this it? by shine eye

it's about time i've shown another franken. this one is called is this it?.

as i wrote in she's thunderstorms post, my method of frankening consist of mixing the last droplets of otherwise emptied polishes, so they end up being mostly blurple :)

is this it? is from the dark blurple range, with navy blue dominating. shimmer is quite complex, blue, purple and green. i will have to reswatch it on a more sunny day, for the bling. it is named after the strokes song (and album).

a england let me in (to emily bronte)

i have neglected a england recently, so i will start with the gorgeous  let me in, from the to emily bronte collection.

to call a england the queen of rich subtle holos is an understatement, and let me in is no exception.

it is a gorgeous deep magenta with a subtle scattered holo particles, or, in their words, "dark red berry holo full of depth and passion". it is so rich, with an effortless formula, a real stunner!

dance legend wood goblin (anna gorelova winter 2014)

gloomy weather is perfect for duochromes, so i am going with wood goblin from anna gorelova's winter collaboration with dance legend.

wood goblin is really stunning. it's a deep green duochrome, shifting to deep purple. unfortunately, even though the shift is very visible in the shade, my camera just couldn't capture it, but you can at least get a glimpse of it in the bottle.

it dries in kind of a satiny finish, which i find to be gorgeous so i didn't use a top coat.

china glaze awaken (romantique)

in another blast from the past post, i am showing one of two first china glaze polishes i ever bought, awaken from romantique collection back in 2008.

awaken was my only pick from romantique, a very interesting collection made of frosty-like metallic polishes. a really stunning polish and even in retrospect, i can see why i picked it at the very beginning of my nailpolish addiction,

the color is just amazing gunmetal grey with a metallic finish. the formula is great, no streaking at all. it is just so pretty and edgy.

picture polish fool's gold (collaboration shade)

today i'm showing you fool's gold, another picture polish collaboration shade.

the autumn 2014 gave us four amazing colalboration shades (there are also unicorn, forget me not and sizzle). although i immediately wanted all 4, fool's gold was a instant love. it was made in collaboration with sam from the nailasaurus. her inspiration was "flecks of gold as seen through deep, tropical waters", and i think it turned out exactly as that!

the base colour is turquoise (my camera has a problem with these shades, they always look more blue), with gold glitter and shimmer. it is a stunner! formula is amazing, it dries smoothly so it doesn't need extra layers of top coat to look nice, and another plus side is that you don't need the special techniques to remove it, the glitter goes off almost effortlessly.
